After a first week at the Graffik Gallery, Al Souk moved to the famous Tabernacle last Monday. The exhibition – held in the framework of the major Nour Festival – will end next Sunday. So you know what you have to do this week-end! Beirut Prints is proud to showcase there some of its photographic production. You will also discover some Middle Eastern designers or artists such as Scene Beirut by Céline Khairallah, Azade by Céline Der Torossian, White sur white by Cyrille Najjar or Majnouna by Joumana Medlej (among others!). Beirut Prints is happy to export its fine art photo collection! Starting November 14, some of our limited edition photographs will be available in London in the framework of Al Souk - the best of Arab design & art. The very first edition of this event will take place at the Graffik Gallery in Notting Hill (until November 21), and then at the famous Tabernacle from November 25 to December 1. We are proud that Mazen Jannoun's Angel nº5 was chosen for the official poster. Al Souk (which is part of the major Nour Festival of Arts) will also host products designers, editors, fashion designers. As we mentioned last week, Beirut Prints takes part at the French book fair (BIEL, until next Sunday). Pass by our booth (B10, next to Antoine) anytime to write down what you feel about Beirut. The wall is yours!
For the first time, Beirut Prints will exhibit at Le Salon du Livre Francophone, at BIEL (November 1-10, booth B10). You will discover there six new posters. But something else is waiting for you there... Finding Beirut Prints' logo Everyday at 4pm, the speaker will launch some kind of egg hunt. Beirut Prints' logo will be hidden somewhere at the book fair. The first of you to find it and to bring it back to our booth will be offered one of our posters. Writing your own quote about Beirut Our wall is waiting for you, and for your creativity! As we'll be hosted by a book fair, let's be innovative... using words! You may pass by anytime to create and write down, on a A3 paper, a quote about our beloved Beirut.
As mentioned last week, Beirut Prints will launch 6 new posters: 4 photographs signed by Melkan Bassil, George Haddad, David Hury and Christophe Rigaud, and 2 posters coming from a new series. They will be available at Beirut Prints' booth in BIEL (from November 2), and in bookstores one month later.
Beirut Prints' photographer Rudy Bou Chebel will exhibit his work in the frame of the Rencontres photographiques du 10e in Paris. Rudy's show – titled "In the streets of Beirut" – will take place at Kann Design, an emerging design gallery. It currently shows the work of a French photographer, Bernard Jouvin. Beirut Prints' photographer Melkan Bassil is part of the Embrace Art Exhibition with his Urban Totem. This collective show curated by Ara Azad is the tip of the iceberg of a major campaign about mental health in Lebanon leaded by the Embrace Fund. Nineteen artists were asked to produce a piece or two about this issue, such as photographers Rita Saadé, George Zouein and Gilbert Hage. Please take a look to this 360-degrees virtual tour. Back to work! Tanya Traboulsi will be part of the upcoming Art Factum exhibition, starting September 18. Potpourri 001 is the annual group show organized by Art Factum Gallery (Qarantina area). Seven other artists will be represented. Among them, French photographer Mustapha Azeroual who showed a magnificent work about trees at AFG in 2012.
Tanya Traboulsi, Lara Zankoul, Ghadi Smat and Mazen Jannoun - part of the Beirut Prints collective -, Caroline Tabet, Joanna Andraos and Emile Issa exhibit their artwork nowadays in Sanary-sur-Mer (south of France) in the frame of the PhotoMed Festival. One of them sent us a short message yesterday saying: "I did learn a lot by taking part to this festival..." The Lebanese participation is curated by Tony el-Hage and co-organized by Serge Akl from the Tourism Office of Lebanon in Paris. Thanks to them for being so engaged in promoting Lebanese artists. French TV channel TV5 did air a short report (in French) about them.
